Branding & settings

Your workspace should look like your organization, not like a generic tool. Admin → Branding controls the name, logo and colors everyone sees, while general settings cover workspace-wide behavior like email delivery and session length.

Open Admin → Branding to set:

  • App name — replaces “PeoplePit” in the sidebar and window title. Your members see your name.
  • Logo — shown in the sidebar and on the login page, and also used as the browser-tab icon (favicon), so your workspace is recognizable among a dozen open tabs.
  • Accent color — the primary color used for buttons, links, highlights and focus states throughout the app.
  • Sidebar and top-bar colors — set separately for the dark and light themes, so your brand works in both. A live preview shows the result as you pick.

Changes apply to everyone on their next load. Branding also carries into the public surfaces your members touch — the login page and portal pages — so the experience is yours end to end.

  1. Use a logo with a transparent background; a square or near-square mark works best as a tab icon.
  2. Check both themes after changing colors — a color that shines on dark can wash out on light.
  3. Keep the accent color contrasted enough to read as a button label background.

Workspace-wide behavior lives alongside branding in the admin area:

  • Email delivery — how your workspace sends mail (your SMTP server or an HTTP mail service), the sender address, and a test send — detailed in Notifications & broadcasts.
  • Session timeout — how long a signed-in session lasts before users must sign in again. Shorten it for stricter environments; lengthen it for convenience.
  • Self-registration — whether people can request their own user account on your workspace’s login page, instead of being added by an administrator in Admin → Users. Keep it off for closed teams; turn it on for open communities (new accounts still get only the access their role and groups grant).
  • Base web address — the address used when notifications include a {{link}} back to a record.

The workspace’s default language for new users is set in Admin → Translations — see Translations.
