Maintenance
Admin → Maintenance (the last entry in the admin menu) is your workspace’s housekeeping page, in three tabs: restore or permanently remove deleted records, review and trim history, and manage file storage. The principle throughout is browse and decide — you always see exactly what would be deleted before deleting it. Live records and configuration are never affected.
Recycle bin
Section titled “Recycle bin”Deleting a record in PeoplePit is always a soft delete: the record disappears from lists and reports but is kept, so nothing is lost by accident. The recycle bin lists every deleted record — filter by type, search by name or ID, or switch on Potential duplicates (older records sharing the same type and name; the newest copy of each group stays out of the view, so what you see is safe to remove). Then:
- Restore brings the record back exactly as it was, with its relationships and comments intact. If its ID was released in the meantime (after a renumber), it gets a fresh one.
- Delete forever permanently removes the record, together with its relationships and comments. This cannot be undone. Files that belonged only to that record become orphans — the file sweep below reclaims them.
Both actions work per row or in bulk: the header checkbox selects the page, and — exactly like list views — a Select all N link extends the selection to every matching record across pages. Both are captured in the activity log (RESTORE / PURGE).
History & logs
Section titled “History & logs”Run history and logs — the audit trail, integration call log, job runs, automation and orchestration runs, sent notifications — grow with activity. Pick a store from the selector (each shows its entry count and size) and browse its entries: when they happened, what they concern (action and actor for audit entries, job/flow names and status for runs, subject and recipients for notifications) and how much space each takes.
Every column has a filter box — type into it to narrow the list to matching entries (e.g. audit entries whose action is UPDATE, or calls to one connector). The Potential duplicates toggle shows only entries whose visible columns are identical to a newer entry — the newest of each group is kept out of the view, so everything shown is repetition you can safely remove. Select the entries — page by page, or Select all N, which targets everything matching the current filters — and Delete selected.
Safety rails are built in whichever way you delete: queued notifications and in-flight orchestration runs are never removed, even when selected.
File storage
Section titled “File storage”The File storage tab lists every stored file — the name is a link that opens the file — with its size, upload date and, most importantly, what links to it: the records, comments or settings that reference the file, as clickable chips. Every file falls into exactly one of three buckets, so the filter counts always add up to the total: Linked (referenced by something), Orphaned (referenced by nothing for over 24 hours), and New, unlinked (unreferenced but younger than 24 hours — the grace period that protects uploads in progress; these become orphans as they age). Two more views help you hunt: a name search, and Potential duplicates — older files sharing the same name and size as a newer one (the newest copy stays out of the view). Each filter shows its file count and total size, and the header repeats the current filter’s totals. Select files — page by page or Select all N on any filter — and Delete selected to reclaim the space; whenever linked files are in the selection, the confirmation warns you that their links will break.
